Relationships are built through time spent together, shared activities and, oftentimes, when gathered at a table. In addition to weekly coffee hour, we have various opportunities throughout the year to gather and share life together. Many of these special events are during the fellowship hour on Sundays, unless otherwise noted.
RALLY DAY is early in September and welcomes everyone to church as summer ends and fall begins. We celebrate the start of the fall schedule with a mini carnival for the kids to enjoy. The fellowship committee works with our men’s group to provide lunch for everyone on Rally Day.
The FAMILY ADVENT WORKSHOP in December is a time to learn and create Advent traditions. Advent wreaths, Yule logs, ornaments, and cookies are some of the past activities made during this time. The workshop is held on a Sunday afternoon, from 3:00pm-5:00pm.
The CHILI COOK-OFF also in December, immediately follows the Advent Workshop and has been a tradition at The Federated Church for many years. Anyone is welcome to submit an entry to be tried and voted on by all who attend. Prizes are given to the top-voted chilies.
DINNER FOR ATE (8) encourages families to invite other families of the congregation into their home to share a meal together. The hosting family provides the main dish while the guests bring side dishes.
In February, BIRTHDAY CAKE SUNDAY features a “Parade of Cakes” as a theme cake for each month of the year is set on a table in fellowship hall and folks with a birthday in that month sit together and celebrate.
These are just some of our fellowship activities. The fellowship committee is always coming up with new ideas for us to celebrate God’s gift of love and community together.
